I know, I know, it has been a minute since I have shared any of my adventures. Due to work and some unexpected events, I have been wayyy busier than expected and not so attached to the computer, but I am back now and excited to share what I have been up to!
I was recently sent to Omaha, Nebraska for work which made my summer that much better. Now, hear me out, I know Omaha doesn’t sound like a dream vacation spot, but I LOVE IT!
Omaha offers the perfect mix of midwest hospitality, great food, an interesting nightlife and the area is wonderfully full of family-life.
The College Baseball World Series happened to be occurring while I was in town and I got to see my adopted team, University of Michigan, play against Florida State University and it was wonderful! The stadium was much more official than I had expected and the fan base was unbelievably large. Michigan ended up making it to the finals but sadly lost it in the last game, but it was a valiant effort, for any of my Wolverine families out there who were interested.
After cutting my work trip short I got to spend some much needed time at home and also visiting my family in Northern California. It was just starting to hit those record Arizona temperatures so while my puppy loves sunbathing, I was excited to experience some cooler weather in California and even more excited to see one of my favorite people, including the newest member of the family, Mr. Cooper.
While I soaked up all the baby time I could get, I also was able to participate in some adult activities. My cousin, boyfriend and my cousin’s cousins spent the day in Sacramento walking from place to place trying some of the great beers and ciders the area had to offer, the perfect summer drinks and they make for a good photo too!
Sadly my trip came to an end and I had to go home and pack for my next work trip, Fort Collins, CO. stay tuned for that post coming soon!
